Lucaffé and La Piccola were developed in conjunction with one another by a young entrepreneur and master roaster; Luca Venturelli.

His concept: to challenge the conventional world of coffee by concentrating on a young and enterprising market – coffee pods, this brought about a small revolution in methods of preparing coffee.

Established in the mid 1990’s in Padenghe Italy, Lucaffé has become one of the most competitive and recognised companies in its field.

Specialising in the production of the Cialde (pod) and espresso pod machines, Luca has developed a system which provides you with a quality and consistent coffee experience. With its eye catching and sensible packaging you will save space and money, and recognise it as soon as you see its warm mascot “Cole”.

To obtain the exquisite blends Lucaffé has to offer, Luca and his team use the best coffee beans available on the market and produce the coffee using the traditional Italian barista technique. Roasted over a very low flame which prevents high jumps in temperature, the process allows for only the best substances, oils and greases, to develop.

Just before the pods are produced, Luca and his team taste test the batches and only once its meets their expectations and quality control, the pods are then produced. The single espresso pods are created into a perfect 7gr serve of a selected blend, (or 14gr for a double pod), and compacted neatly into the “Cialde”. The added pressure supplied by the espresso pod machine allows for a perfect 25-30ml pour with a thick, consistent crèma and the perfect espresso every time.

For commercial use Venturelli designed the “Pleasure Menu”, a genuine “coffee menu”, which lists the types of coffee offered by Lucaffé. Ranging from the renowned Jamaica Blue Mountain, it is one of the rarest and most sought out types of coffee. Other selections include the Classic Italian Blend, 100% Arabica, Columbia, Mexico, and decaffeinated coffee.

The menu also contains an extensive range of fine teas and flavoured coffee, prepared using the same technique, with a guarantee of the highest quality.

Packaging

Samuel & Sons distribute the full Lucaffè range of blends as:

  • 1kg bags of whole beans.
  • Whole & ground beans in either 250g or 500g bags.
  • Whole & ground beans in250g tins.
  • The convenient espresso pods.

The espresso pods are exclusive to our Lucaffè espresso pod machines, and are individually packaged and sealed in air tight and protective packaging which guarantees the taste, aroma and novelty of freshly ground coffee.
